On May 7, 1947, 3 of the orginal 4 Post formed in China in 1919 one year after the "Great War" and chartered on April 20, 1920 were cancelled, they being Peking Post 2, Canton Post 3, and Hankow Post 5.The sole remaining Post in China was General Frederick Townsend Ward Post No.1 it was renamed and rechartered in 1948 as Generals Ward & Chennault & Lt. Helseth China. It is the only Post nominally headquartered in a Communist country, and has been operating in exile since 1948 presently operating in Henderson NV as a member of the Department of France.
